Ezidiler Kara Kitap Kara Talih - Ciltli
Yazidis, who cannot establish constant communication through writing, stay away from any religious expansionist approach, and whose population is decreasing day by day, have begun to be examined almost as an anthropological element, are just one of the communities suffering from "historical blindness". Yazidism, which has become controversial both culturally and politically, is about to lose all the mythological narrative and cultural structure it has created over the millennia in this century. Both the internal balance of the community and external interventions accelerate this cultural break. The problems that arise within this cultural rupture are not limited to the political, cultural, religious and military "pressure" created by more institutional religions such as Christianity and Islam. Among the factors that push the Yazidis towards the pages of history today, the emergence of dozens of different copies of the two lost religious books of Yazidism, the massacres, exiles and wars that the Yazidi community has been exposed to throughout history and under various administrations, and the differences between generations that have become more evident today with the effects of modernism, also play a role. In addition to these, the interaction of the Yazidi community with different states, cultures and religions as a result of the nationalization movements that emerged in the last century, and the resulting separation, emerge as another problem of Yazidism. This work, titled Black Book Black Fortune, aims to record, at least in part, this difficult journey of the Yazidis. For this purpose, the information on oral culture obtained by Amed Gökçen during his field research in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Georgia, Armenia and Germany since 2004 is presented together with Saner Sen's photographs. Shaped not on controversial topics but on the arguments the community uses in daily life, Black Book Black Fortune will fill an important gap by supporting the Yazidi community's efforts to become visible.
