Yellow Laughter
Murat Özyaşar, who won the Haldun Taner Story Award and the Yunus Nadi Story Award with his first book Mirror Crunch, has a second new book: Yellow Laughter.
"Sentences do not have meanings, meanings have sentences. And because not every meaning has a sentence, there are stories..." Murat Özyaşar, who won the Haldun Taner Story Award and the Yunus Nadi Story Award with his first book Mirror Crunch, has a second new book: Yellow Laughter.
Özyaşar, who says "There were still words, they were all an implication" in Mirror Crunch, removes the implication in words and drags the story within words to meaning. These stories, which cannot be told but can only be written, expect from the reader not an intense effort to understand, but rather a feeling… Sarı Laughter desires to meet and infect its reader with stories that have known how to wait. "Everyone laughs after their death, this crisis, this laughter is called yellow laughter."
