Jönler
II. Intellectuals who were prosecuted for opposing Abdulhamid's oppressive rule, fled abroad and had to continue their struggle away from their country, are known in Turkish political history as "Young Turks", which Westerners called them. II. Various political and intellectual organizations and press activities that prepared the Constitutional Monarchy are concentrated in centers such as Paris, Geneva and Cairo. Bekir Fahri's novel Young Turks, which is about the Young Turks living in Egypt in the 1900s, is of particular importance in this respect. The fact that the events and characters in the novel, written with a naturalistic approach, are real gives the work a documentary quality. This documentary nature stems from the fact that Bekir Fahri was among the intellectuals who fled to Egypt. The author conveys the events he witnessed and the people he observed closely with a reflective reality. In the translation of Jönler into modern Turkish, which was first published in 1910, the sentence structure was left untouched in order to preserve the narrative feature of the author, and it was sufficient to give the equivalents of old words and phrases; Additionally, historical notes proving Jönler's documentary are added to the end of the book.
