Yufka Yürek
Dostoyevsky's early stories... After the long stories such as White Nights and Twins that we had previously published, Dostoyevsky wrote a series of short and long texts. Thus, all of the stories written by the author before his return from exile have been re-translated with this story book and taken place in the Classics series of Can Publications.
This book, which also includes famous stories such as "Novel with Nine Letters" and "Yufka Yürek", is very important in terms of showing Dostoyevsky's view of literature in his youth, the sources he was influenced by, and the issues he focused on. In these stories, there are signs of the great novels he would write in the following years, such as Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov. While Gogol's influence is clearly felt, especially in the stories that feature incompatible personalities, those living on the edge of madness, and characters in conflict over social status and position, it is also observed that Dostoyevsky's identity as a writer has not yet been established.
