Zazalar - Tarih Kültür ve Kimlik
In most of the studies conducted so far on Zazas , a community settled in the East and Southeast of Anatolia, this important community is defined only through linguistic and philological data. Common concepts such as "collective name, common ancestry myth, common history, common culture, common territory and sense of solidarity", which Anthony Smith sees as the basic elements of an ethnic community, were not the subject of these studies. Therefore, most of the studies were incomplete in these aspects. Ercan Çağlayan 's book, Zazas: History, Culture and Identity, eliminates this deficiency to a large extent, and the ethnic origin, language, history, beliefs, culture and identities of the Zazas are discussed together, based on disciplines such as history, sociology, anthropology and ethnology, as well as linguistics and philology. . In addition, the place of institutions such as faith, sect, sect, tribe, sheikhdom and sayyidism within the Zaza society, their functional positions are examined within the framework of religion and social life. Çağlayan also examines the Zazaki discussions in the language-dialect dichotomy based on nationalism, nation-state, language standardization, language planning and language policies, and draws important conclusions on these issues, using the interdisciplinary approach in an original way, drawing the basic framework of his work in this direction. Zazas: History, Culture and Identity is a work that is an important reference book on this aspect alone.
The study, titled Zazas : History, Culture and Identity, focuses on the ethnic origin, language, history, beliefs, culture and ultimately the identity of the Zazas. Moreover, claiming that the language and dialect discussions are ideological and manipulative, it deserves to be a reference book about Zazas with its consumer bibliography and appendices, discussing Zazas in terms of ethnicity, language, religion, history, geography, culture, heroes and other commonalities.
