1968: Rebellion-Revolution-Freedom Book Description 1968: Rebellion, Revolution, Freedom starts from the idea that the student movements of the period can be understood by considering the actions in different countries. The articles in the book68 are mainly written in Turkey as well as in different countries such as the USA, West Germany and Czechoslovakia. It offers an overview of what kind of action wave, intellectual agenda and impact it created. In this sense, the book tries to reveal the world-historical nature of the 68 moment in a spectrum ranging from popular culture to different political movements and presents sections from the political and opposition imaginations of the societies of the period. It has enough space in the studies on 68. Subjects and movements such as non-governmental women and the greens, as well as issues such as land occupations and the political mobilization of the Kurds in the '68 era, are examined in detail in this book. The book you have in hand was created by expanding the 68 special issue of Social History published in May 2018. All of the articles in the special issue, some of them in longer versions, are presented to the attention of the readers again in this study. Additionally, six articles that were not included in Social History were written for this book, resulting in a comprehensive compilation consisting of 22 chapters and a transcript of a roundtable meeting, focusing on different aspects of 1968. Contributors: Alper Akyüz, Ateş Uslu, Axel B. Çorlu, Ayşe Köse Badur, Ayşen Uysal, Begüm Özden Fırat, Bilge Seçkin Çetinkaya, Bülent Somay, Cemil Boyraz, Çimen Günay-Erkol, Demet Lüküslü, Deniz Cenk Demir, Emre Can Dağlıoğlu , Erden Akbulut, Erol Ülker, Esin Paça Cengiz, Fatmagül Berktay, Fethiye Beşir, Hakan Koçak, Kerem Ünüvar, Masis Kürkçügil, Nadire Mater, Ömer Turan, Özgür Ulus Mutlu, Tanıl Bora, Zafer Toprak, Zeynep Beşpınar.
