It was an evening
It was an Evening is the novel of Meliha, who wants to change herself from top to bottom with the desire to live an unknown but attractive, rich life as a result of her youthful dreams, lack of experience and, most importantly, her inability to receive a good family upbringing. Meliha's life changed when one of her relatives, a young man named Kamil, stopped by Izmit on his return from the Caucasian front. Leaving behind her sick father and mother who could not adapt to her environment, she and Kamil secretly escaped to Istanbul one night. After a while, they get married. However, Meliha finds herself in the web of events that she never took into account or even imagined. He pays a heavy price for his passion by losing almost all his values. Kamil, one of the famous womanizers of Şişli, does not abandon his old habits after marrying Meliha and introduces his wife to the worlds of debauchery. While Meliha is struggling with the countless women around Kamil, her husband's French wife, whom he married before the war and had a child with, also appears. Kamil, who is stuck among women and sees the solution in joining the ongoing struggle for independence, finds himself in the middle of real hell when he goes to Anatolia to overcome his depression.
