Dersim Operation and Republic Bureaucracy Book Description The fourth book of the Necmeddin Sahir Sulan Archive publication series contains the reports and correspondence of the bureaucracy regarding the Tunceli province and its districts. These reports, most of which were written by local administrators upon the actual request of Tunceli MP Necmeddin Sahir Sılan, reflect the Dersim/Tunceli issue and "remediation" and "retaliation" policies. It also provides detailed information about the structure, working style and phases of the state apparatus. The "civilizing mission" of the state tradition, which has been continuing since the Tanzimat period, in the remotest corners of the country, despite all the problems created by social engineering, of the bureaucracy, which assumed important functions in the nation-state building process and the founding phase of the Republic. It shows that they have undertaken their duties and fulfilled their duties. Thanks to these reports, which are primary sources, it is brought to the agenda once again how multi-dimensional the problems related to the region were before and after the Dersim "operation".
