world history
Common world history narratives tend to focus on the rise of Western civilization, placing emphasis on Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, and the expansion of Europe. The histories of great civilizations such as China, India and Japan, and thus the lives of the majority of the world's population, are often compressed into a much smaller area.
World History takes a completely different approach. Based on the assumption that the human story should be told from a holistic perspective, it examines the evolution of humans, their lives as hunters and gatherers, and their subsequent transition to agriculture, and then discusses the emergence of civilizations in various regions of the world such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, Indus Valley, Meso America and Peru. He continues his narrative with the story of the first civilizations, emphasizing not only their differences but also their similarities. It explains how their relationships were established and how technology, ideas, and the world's largest religions passed from one to the other. It covers the Great Islamic, Chinese and Mongolian Empires in detail. Only towards the end of the story does Europe slowly begin to dominate the world, rising above technological innovations and social and economic changes. In the 21st century, this dominance of Europe disappears.
World History takes a complete global survey, offering a new and strikingly different narrative of human history. This is the history of a world that will be relevant in the new century.
