Undoubtedly, one of the most striking and wide-ranging areas of folklore is clothing, and among these, the most attractive, delicate and aesthetic side is evident in women's clothing and clothing, as it is today. In addition, this tradition, which continued for generations, after a while took on a social color and expanded further, becoming a representation of national identities. Because over time, the clothes worn and the accessories worn become more than a need, they represent aesthetic understanding, spiritual codes, perspective and most importantly, the construction of an identity. The work Traditional Kurdish Women's Clothing, prepared on this very basis, is the serendipity of a story lived by Nevin Reşan Güngör for nearly twenty years.
Güngör undoubtedly acted for some reasons and purposes when starting and finishing this work. While one of the most important reasons is to prevent traditional Kurdish women's clothing from being recorded and destroyed or exploited by other nations, the most important purpose is to transfer it to the next generations and attempt to rebuild the ancient culture. This work, prepared for such reasons and purposes, was published by Nûbihar Publications as a 200-page, fully colored work, as a result of many archives, museums, works and Güngör's own observations over the years, and presented to the attention of readers and enthusiasts. All clothing, accessories, jewelry, etc. visuals have been recreated from Güngör's pen and drawing, and this work, which resembles an undiscovered treasure, has been presented to the appreciation of modelists and stylists.
This work, which consists of clothing , head binding , accessories and jewelry , socks and shoes , hand-woven fabric patterns , weaving machines and hand tools , dress patterns and jewelry heads, will take its enthusiasts on a unique adventure in the history and geography of Kurdish culture. In addition to all these, the work also includes a long introductory article in Turkish, Kurdish and English with the headings of the necessity of dressing , its functions , codes , fashion , jewelry and the history of Kurdish women's costumes . We hope this work will be one of the faces of the modern world turned into tradition.
