What kind of Dev-Genç is this, my child?
Back Cover Article (From the Promotional Bulletin)
The districts of the Eastern Black Sea and the bays extending from Sinop to Hopa adorn the coasts like the beads of a pearl necklace. The coastal districts of the Black Sea do not spend the night alone, they become two cities. One's lights remain steady, the other's lights fluctuate in the waters. Each of the cities has its own unique stories. These stories contain the names of heroes who became stars in the struggle for independence, freedom and people's democracy against fascism and imperialism.
Before 1980, a few districts in particular were targeted in the Black Sea region. Smears were being made about these districts using all kinds of means. It was said that it was under the occupation of the communists, and it was stated that "it had to be saved from absolute occupation". The leading districts were Fatsa in Ordu, Pazar in Rize, and Savsat in Artvin.
The book you have in your hand tells the struggle of the revolutionaries in Pazar, one of these districts, in a language full of pain, sadness and humor.
