Rebellion and Melancholy
What is romance? First of all, it is a form of resistance against the lifestyle of modern capitalist society. Romanticism appears before us as an opposition, so much so that it opposes the modern civilization created by the market economy and the industrial revolution, and it does this by resisting with poetry, art, politics and philosophy. This great rejection, where imagination prevails over reason, is also the search for a new form of human society.
The perception of romanticism, which comes from the nineteenth century, emerges among opposing thinkers and in the May 68 movement, and continues to stand the test of time. Even today, it appears as a hope whose fragments we can see in cities and in resistance.
Ultimately, the memory of the past will be used as a weapon in the struggle for the future.
