Because the geography they live in is close to the region where the light of Islam emerged, Kurds are one of the first nations to benefit from the light of this light. The conquest movements initiated to spread Islam were carried out by the second Caliph, Hz. During the reign of Ömer, Kurds living in important cities and regions such as Mesopotamia, Hakkari, Diyaribekir, Serhat, Mosul, Şehrezür, Bitlis, Erzurum, Elazığ, Malatya and Semsur accepted Islam and became an important element of the ummah. Kurds have made great contributions to Islamic science, politics and culture throughout history.

Kurdish scholars translated the meanings of the Holy Quran and wrote works on tafsir, hadith, belief, fiqh, sirah, ethics, Sufism, tajwid and other Islamic sciences in order to spread religious education among all layers of the people. These works spread among the whole population, especially in the madrasah circles that continue to exist privately in the regions where Kurds live.

The first works written in Kurdish on Islamic sciences appeared as the works of Sheikh Ehmedê Xanî, who lived in the 1600s. Later, in the late 1700s, Molla Halîl es-Siirdî came to the fore with his work Nehcu'l-Enam, and after the 1800s, he contributed to political, cyclical, social, etc. Due to these factors, Kurdish texts on Islamic sciences gained vitality.
