Yorgun Savaşçı
Kemal Tahir, who tells the story of the Nationalists in Istanbul under the oppression of the Occupation Forces in the Captive City Trilogy, sends them to Anatolia in 'The Tired Warrior'. Hell Gunner Cemil, who appears as a supporting character in 'The Junction', is the main character of 'The Tired Warrior'. Cemil, whose tiredness that he has not been able to shake off since coming to Istanbul seems to increase as he rests, is on the one hand so fed up that he wants to leave everything behind and live in a faraway village with his cousin Neriman, whom he has fallen in love with and married; on the other hand, he is brave enough to want to go to Anatolia and take part in the front lines of the National Struggle.
'The Tired Warrior', which tells the story of the organizations in Istanbul and the Anatolian resistance in 1919 and 1920, can also be read as the novel of the process leading to the foundation of the Republic.
