Azil
Technology is changing people's behavior, morals, and socioeconomic relations in a way that can never be reversed. The change in question causes humanity to deviate from its purpose and the emergence of an unnatural, nameless species.
The minimum morality that humanity has created with a thousand efforts in two thousand years has been violated by television in fifty years. And it has been swallowed by the internet for ten years.
The loneliness of the individual results in being excluded from society. The individual who is pushed out of society (or chooses to do so) begins to create his own truths and live with them. Over time, the widening moral difference between the society and the individual becomes the main reason why both of them get sick.
Hakan Günday's criticism of the social structure we live in in "Izil" is the "nothing" of modern people. He conveys the problem of maturation, the transitions between reality, dreams and nightmares, and the transitions of time and space, with expressions that sometimes become harsh, so masterfully that it almost slaps the reader.
Although Hakan Günday, the young writer who pushes the limits with his writings, says that he does not do underground literature. , expertly portrays characters that are disturbing and unsettling, both against the system and intertwined with it. Günday uses a language appropriate to the psychic characteristics and world perception of the main character, Asil, with great skill. Throughout the novel, many philosophical definitions and observations are included in the style of the main character.
