The Book of Bakunin
This compilation consists of coherent and complete writings produced by Bakunin, one of the founders of the anarchism movement, within a three-year period. These texts, which belong to a period when Bakunin's influence in Europe was at its peak and were published for the first time in Turkish, are of central importance for understanding his anarchist philosophy. This book, which documents the thought adventure of the thinker, who is better known for his activism and his never-slacking passion for rebellion and revolution, starting with the German idealist philosophy and evolving into anarchism, reveals his thoughts on the role of the International in the development of the revolutionary movement, the theoretical and practical tendencies of a revolutionary organization, and the understanding of some concepts and institutions that are considered sacred. It conveys its inner face and what/who it serves to the reader in its shocking style.
For historical reasons and because comparison is a useful method of explanation, it would be interesting to compare some of Bakunin's ideas with those of Marx. In this respect, Cutler's Introduction, in which he compares Bakunin and Marx, and identifies the way in which these two approaches actually complement each other and provide productive perspectives when taken together, deserves to be emphasized and discussed.
