Bin Atlı Akınlarda Çocuklar
In Turkey, where poetry is not read in depth and receives superficial attention, where it never becomes a part of daily life, and where poetry books are not purchased, can't we talk about a society that has not touched poetry since its student years? Which poets and poems do students establish a relationship with literature by reading while growing up? Are the poets and their poems in the textbooks really capable of making the love of poetry permanent?
"Children in the Raids of a Thousand Horses" is conducting a research that may answer these questions: The stages of Turkish education in schools; It reveals the changes in form and content of Turkish poetry from the republic to the present day and their reflection in textbooks, taking into account the periods in question and the prominent poets and poems. Hilmi Tezgör examines the reflections of "national" education in poetry by making an inventory of secondary school Turkish textbooks and the poets/poems in these books.
