Depiction of a Fight
In the Penal Colony, which includes some of Franz Kafka's narratives that have not appeared in books before, was published by Can Publishing. Description of a Quarrel, which is the sequel to this book, consists of the narratives the author left behind after his death. Thus, all of Kafka's narratives are collected in two books.
The 34 narratives in this book reveal the struggle of the individual, who is essentially alone, to exist in the dead-end streets of the "Kafkaesque" world. Kafka depicts the dark dimensions of existence with an intensity that no writer before or after him has achieved.
Kafka, who was as lonely as his heroes, deeply influenced 20th century literature. In his work, the fears, despairs and dilemmas of the individual are handled in a clear language within a thematic multi-layered structure.
