Bolshevik Revolution and the Ottomans The October Revolution led to a process that was at least as decisive and impressive as the French Revolution throughout Europe. The Russian Revolution of 1917 was an experience that gave those living in the Ottoman Empire the opportunity to see with excitement what was happening around them. However, unfortunately, we lack studies directly related to the subject regarding the effects of the Bolshevik Revolution on the Ottoman Empire. In this work, prepared with the extraordinary efforts of Uygur Kocabaşoğlu and Metin Berge, how the perception of socialism and the revolutions in general were received and perceived in the Ottoman society is not only related to the revolution in Russia, but also to the revolution that started in the 1840s, going back to the days of the Commune, revived in 1917, and became political in the 1920s. It is handled in an updated process due to strategies. The Bolshevik Revolution and the Ottomans starts with the abundant summaries of the ideas of the wrestler called "the commander of the bandit Karl Marx" in newspapers, the reflections of the 1917 Revolution in the Istanbul and Anatolian press, and how socialism and communism were envisioned. How a political thought, which was approached with a logical parallelism that was tried to be established between Islam and communism, and of course with a vulgarization that was blocked only by the logic of "participation-i emvâl ve iyal", transformed into a new style of administration in "Muscovite hands", and how this transformation was met. It allows him to be traced through the press. The work also offers a valuable starting point to follow the course of a strange legacy handed over from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic in modern Turkey.
