Brodie Raporu

The Brodie Report, which is the first product of the period when Borges started writing stories again after a long break, has a different style from the author's early story books. The book, consisting of eleven short stories, asks questions about the functioning of society and reaches ironic observations and enigmatic judgments about civilization. Dealing with issues such as language, culture, religion and social relations, the Brodie Report traces the daily life in Argentina intertwined with violence and anxiety: the underworld, knives, goso, outlaws, streets full of danger. In the Brodie Report, one of his simplest books, Borges reveals the deep history of Buenos Aires to the reader, layer by layer. Again, with his unique sense of uncertainty that permeates every line he writes.
