Sheikh of the Mountain Hasan Sabbah
Iranian writer Freidoune Sahebjam takes Hasan Sabah, Nizam al-Mulk and Omar Khayyam, important characters of the eleventh century, as the main axis of his novel. It is a road story where fiction and reality are intertwined, about what doors emotion and ambition will open in a person's heart. What stands before us is the controversial life of Hasan Sabah, who was called a hero by some and a murderer by others, as he went through the depths of history with a poetic tour.
The value of the promises made and the intersecting roads were enough to create a storm. As a result of this storm, words were forgotten and the struggle began. The center of the struggle is Alamut Castle. The sect's teachings and disciples were trained here. The rumor that the disciples who met the poppy here committed political murders with the suggestions of Hasan Sabah has survived to this day.
Freidoune Sahebjam does not just talk about a mysterious hero in his novel. It doesn't create a special hero either. Everything flows as in the verse of Omar Khayyam, the other hero of the novel.
