Internal State Warfare: Koçgiri - Pontos - Thrace - Sasun - Dersim Book Description Nevzat Onaran's Internal State Warfare research is his fourth book in which he analyzes the political economy of Turkish nationalism. The actions of the Turkish state in the period 1914-1940 were examined in these four books. Minister of Internal Affairs Faik Öztrak announced that 13,160 [TR citizens] from Dersim and 122 soldiers-militia died in the operation in 1938. Even the soldier-militia losses of the Turkish War of Independence in the 1920-1922 period were much less than the Dersim people killed in 1938; It was 9167. Apparently, no one rebelled; The state had a military operation plan and execution against its citizens. Chief of General Staff, General Nuri Yamut, summarized the operation in his Dersim report by saying "the [state's] war provisions were current". Haydar Kang File from Ağzunik village of Hozat is the official confession document of what was done in Dersim. No official, including the Prime Minister, could say to Haydar Kang, "You wrote a lie." In his four petitions sent to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Ministry of Justice, Haydar Kang wrote that in August 1938, 170 people from Agzunik, including 12 of their families, were killed and burned by a military detachment of 60 people under the command of a captain. The life and property safety of Dersim residents was destroyed; tens of thousands of them were killed and deported... With the Internal State War, what was done not only to the Kurdish/Zaza Alevi-Kızılbaş in Dersim, but also to the Kurdish Alevi-Kızılbaş in Koçgiri, the Greeks in Pontos, and the Kurds and Armenians in Sasun were examined. Acts that destroyed the safety of life and property were within the scope of Article 2 of the Genocide Convention.
