Thinkers Who Changed the World 3
The selection we brought from the Indian Vedas to Ancient China, Ancient Greece, Rome and Renaissance Europe in the first and second volumes is continued in the third volume.
Philosophical quest started in ancient times; In other words, the process that started with the discussion of the essence of matter and the laws of its movement was now crowned with the determination of the social laws of the nature and change of humans and societies. Bare-skinned women, who emerged on the stage of history with the Age of Enlightenment and especially French materialism, were bringing the world to the brink of a new era with radical thoughts and actions unprecedented in history. With the American War of Independence and the French Revolution, the power of the bourgeoisie became absolute and the era of modern capitalism began with the move towards industrialization.
In this work, as in other volumes, Sadık Usta examines the ideas and lives of thinkers who made significant contributions to the change of the world, starting from the 18th century and extending to the beginning of the 19th century.
The thinkers, texts and events covered in the third volume are as follows: Diderot, d'Alembert, Voltaire, La Mettrie, Rousseau, Helvetius, d'Holbach, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Robespierre, Saint-Just, American Declaration of Independence, Constitutional Drafts of the French Revolution.
