The great French revolution of 1789 affected all societies in the world from the very first day. This revolution also became the source of other revolutionary qualities. It initiated the intellectual processes of a happy future in the minds of humanity and led to various struggles. Socialism, nihilism and Narodnism in Russia all originated from here. In "The Possessed", Dostoyevsky describes how people are thrown away in front of this storm of dreams and how they show revolutionary will. We think it is one of the first examples of political novel. We are pleased to present this novel, which is missing from our Dostoyevsky list, in Metin İlkin's Turkish version.
