Some zombies can be fed. Some must be destroyed. You might as well consult Anita Blake.

Until now, Anita had only found zombies annoying. He didn't think they were dangerous. He had never heard of a zombie causing people to writhe in pain.

But now everything has changed.

Micah's father, whom he had not seen for a long time, was on his deathbed. He was suffering from a strange illness that his doctors whispered to him as "zombie disease" and he was rotting from the inside out. Even though Anita made her living from zombies, it wasn't like she knew the species she was dealing with. These new creatures were the type that hunted in daylight. Moreover, they were at least as fast and strong as vampires. The person they bit turned into one of them. It was as if they were stuck in a cycle that kept repeating itself.

So where would this stop?

Even Anita Blake didn't know the answer. But he would soon find out.
