İbo - Sapling of the Revolution
Feyizoğlu is a detail hunter. He starts his job of revealing the truth in a multifaceted and in-depth manner, from the details that do not attract attention. To be suspicious, to ask insistently, to ask tirelessly, to draw the other party to the edge as if to make them bored and to escape. When the subject is the lives of the leaders of the '68-71 generation who were destroyed by the system, Feyizoğlu's ill-fated interrogation becomes useful and becomes more meaningful. This is the job of revealing the diamonds of the class struggle that remain under the rubble. Not easy. Feyizoglu's language is clear. We read it without any difficulty or obstacles. While reading, we can't help but ask, "I think there's something missing in this texture." When we finish reading it, we seem to understand that God is unfair to Feyizoğlu when he distributes objects called aesthetic elegance, surprise, magic, and poetic aphorisms to humanity. The one-sided glorification of people who died for the great humanity is a legacy left to us from religions and heroic legends. We cannot break away from this legacy. This legacy eats us up, takes us away and pits us against science. This legacy alienates us from the dead person and from ourselves. Feyizoğlu's enlightening attitude lies in the fact that he has barely been under the influence of such a legacy. There is no such thing as immortality. Man and humanity exist today, there is no tomorrow. What matters is what we do in the moment, that is, with each breath we take. It means that we do not worship what we have done. The closest thing to nothingness or death is the act of worship. We should read not only this book, but all books, with a skeptical, curious and objective mind, free from prejudices and taboos. No revolution can be long-lasting if it does not carry the potential to transcend its theoretical creators in its essence. My wish is that this book, like similar books, will be a spark or a vein of flame in the furnace of long-term revolutions.
