Karadeniz Dalgaları
In 1994, a trip by ship to the countries bordering the Black Sea was organized by the Swedish Writers' Union. Four hundred writers from thirty countries participated in this trip. Although other countries contributed to this trip, the entire burden of the trip was on the shoulders of the Swedish Writers' Union. At that time, I was working at the Swedish Cultural Council, in the Foreigners and Minorities Department. I participated in this trip on behalf of the Council. During the trip, I was taking notes every day in a small notebook that I carried in my pocket. When I returned home, some of my friends were curious about the trip and asking questions. Thereupon, I decided to publish these notes I took during the trip as a book. Due to the workload of “Nûdem”, I did not have the opportunity to copy these notes and I could not share my travel notes. Now, although it is late, I present it to you, dear readers, so that this trip will be recorded in the memory of time as a historical document.
