Forty Warehouse
"Forty Warehouses" is a public of concepts, a cluttered and scattered encyclopedia, in the words of Cemil Meriç, "a few columns and a few rooms of the monument he wanted to build". The work consists of two independent parts: Rümüz-ül Edeb and Lehçe-t-ül Hakayik. Each chapter is large enough to be a book on its own. That's why we are publishing two separate chapters of "Forty Ambar" in two separate volumes, edited by Mahmut Ali Meriç, who prepared the work for printing. This first volume invites the Turkish reader to think on a line that extends from world literature to classics, from humanism to the sociology of literature, from the novel to the history of literature.
