Communist International 1919-1943
"Humanity will be saved with the International!" While all the communists, socialists and a wide segment of the internationalist left-wing thought in the world embraced these words of the International Anthem, why did the Communist International or Comintern not survive for a long time?
The Communist International (1919-1943), which we published within the scope of the "Socialism from the Past to the Future" series, opens many discussion topics while seeking the answer to this fundamental question: How did the establishment and organization of the world party take place? What did the discussions about the main organization, subsidiary organizations, management from a single center, taking initiative and being guided bring about?
What happened when the expectation of world revolution fell back, what consequences did the "Bolshevistization" of the Communist Parties lead to? How did the popular front discussions begin, what attitude did the Comintern take against fascism? Why did the test of war lead to disintegration, how did the patriotism debates end? What was discussed about the crisis of capitalism, the political forms and economic role of the state? How did the different CPs in the Comintern approach the national question, how were the tensions between radical denial and tactical exaltation?
In light of all these questions and more; A holistic reading of the Comintern with its gains and weaknesses, minuses and pluses...
