
Anatomy of Kurdish Literature
Tracing the history of Kurdish language literature is a difficult and controversial issue. The reasons are diverse, but especially the lack of the state with its institutions that participate in the formation of literary history can be mentioned. Of course, in addition to this fundamental deficiency, the scarcity of studies on this issue and the national historiography that tends to base literary history on a real or imaginary ancient history can also be mentioned.
This work consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to the resources and constraints affecting "outside the field" literary activities, that is, "external factors". In particular, language policies that need to be examined in order to understand what relations unite literary and political Kurdish actors and their languages are discussed. The first subsection of the study is devoted to Turkish language policies, and the second to Kurdish language policies. The second subsection, “plural field”, describes the formation and structuring of the Kurdish literary field. The research begins with the analysis of the language and literary activities that constitute the real foundations of the literary creation process in Sweden, during the period when the military regime in Turkey was most harsh. Then, the work focuses on the emergence of different actors who played a role in the formation of the literary environment and the issues and discussions that structured and mobilized it. These discussions will lead us to question the boundaries of Kurdish literature and to ponder the open nature of the field...
