The origin of the concept of "civil society", which is frequently discussed within the left due to the dominant role it played in Gramsci's thought and which gives its distinctive color to Euro-communism, dates back to Hegel and Rousseau. Both thinkers who approach civil society critically base themselves on the civil society-state dichotomy, not the state of nature-civil society dichotomy, and reach a conclusion that the relations specific to this society are historically determined. However, neither Hegel nor Rousseau could go beyond the perspective of civil society and bring a radical criticism to it. The person who will realize this kind of "anatomy" is Marx. By giving labor the priority of being the most fundamental "ontological" category, Marx completely changed the way the relationship between humans and nature was conceived, and by mediating this relationship through labor, he was able to grasp the human-nature relationship in its historicity.

The aim of this book is to discuss civil society, based on Marx's analysis that explains civil society in the context of capitalist relations, in contrast to approaches that see civil society as an end in itself, glorify it, place the civil society-state duality at the center and expand the boundaries of civil society vis-à-vis the state as the main goal. is to intervene from the perspective of the vine.
