Known for his reformist personality among the Ottoman sultans, II. When Mahmud (1785-1839) abolished the Janissary Corps, he established a new army called Asâkir-i Mansûre-i Muhammediye . The sultan, who gave great importance to the creation of the theoretical infrastructure in terms of training this army, in a short period of 15-20 years; He has created a considerable literature in the field of "fenn-i harb", that is, the art of war, including translations from Western languages, especially French. In this field, II. did not want to neglect the Islamic literature that had been created over many centuries. Mahmud, AD XII. Alî b., a versatile writer who lived in the 19th century . Tezkiretü'l-Hereviyye fî Hiyeli, written by Ebî Bekr el-Herevî for el-Melikü'z-Zâhir Gâzî (d. 613/1216), the son of Selâhaddîn-i Eyyûbî, and which can be included both in politics and in the art of war. He found his Arabic work titled 'l-Harbiyye - Politics and Art of War' remarkable in the context of science of war (war strategy) and had it translated by Mehmed Ârif Hilmî Efendi, who was working as a professor in Istanbul. In the present study, in addition to the transcription text of this translation and its translation into modern Turkish, there is also a review section in which information about the source text and its translation is given. As with the publications of other classical texts, a facsimile of the manuscript has been added to the end of this work.
