Keep It Short - My Memories
Âşık Temelî is a Kurd and Alevi who grew up in the chamber culture of the Inner Taurus Mountains, and is also a worker and dissident poet. He is an artist whose songs and anthems were circulated for a while, who did not leave his people alone in their struggle even though he was not very visible, who was aware of his responsibility and a witness of his time.
In Temelî's memoirs, you will find the 68 Generation of Turkey, the Kurdish Movement in Europe after the 70s, many portraits of Kurdish and Turkish intellectuals, and anecdotes that sometimes make you sad and sometimes make you laugh. At the same time, you will witness Temelî's change and transformation as a poet, starting from the Turkish left movement and continuing his struggle for the Kurdish national cause. “Keep the Word Short” is a book that will give some relief to those who are especially familiar with the leftist and Kurdish politics of the 60s and 70s.
