  • As a Kurdish lawyer, my clients were mostly Kurds. For this reason, during the trials, I witnessed countless tragicomic events experienced by my Kurdish clients who did not speak Turkish. In similar trials, for example, in the hearings, aside from the difficulty of finding an interpreter for the Kurdish side who does not speak Turkish, I have also witnessed incredible injustices as a result of the translator who was found incompletely or incorrectly conveying the intentions of the person he was translating to the court. Naturally, the main reason for all these injustices was that defense was prohibited in Andil. Although now, defending in the mother tongue has become free in the courts. However, it is clear that there will be no benefit in defending in Kurdish in courts without knowing the Kurdish equivalent of legal terms. I have humbly prepared this dictionary with the idea that if one or all of the parties are Kurdish, we can minimize the possible injustices that the Kurdish party who does not speak Turkish will suffer just because they do not speak Turkish, in all types and at every stage of the proceedings. My aim is to provide convenience, even if only a drop from the sea, to my colleagues who work in such cases.
