Being and Time

Martin Heidegger's masterpiece, Being and Time, was published in 1927. In this book, Heidegger analyzed and explained human existence in the world (Dasein) with an original method and terminology. He revealed that human existence is revealed within the horizon of time, which means the unfolding of existence. In this way, Heidegger created an ontology that aims to overcome the distinction between subject-object and soul-body.

With this book, one of the most important works of contemporary philosophy, Heidegger created a deep impact not only in philosophy but also in fields such as art, politics, language, psychology, architecture and technology. Many contemporary thinkers such as Sartre, Levinas, Binswanger, Boss, Merleau-Ponty, Foucault, Derrida, Arendt, Gadamer, Jonas, Marcuse, Rorty, Agamben, Dreyfus were inspired by Being and Time.
